Documentary update
by Andris on May.05, 2012, under News
Our short documentary on the reintegration of the mentally ill is nearly complete, but we won’t make our self-set deadline of early May. More likely the middle or the end of this month. Small touches here and there and lots of reviewing. But at least today was the first day when I thought of doing the end titles. The film will be in Latvian though, will be some time till we come up with English subtitles. The title currently is “Divas sejas” or “Two faces” and it is 40 minutes long.

Participation in film festivals

We have submitted our film Movements Between Moments to the East End Film Festival in the UK. We were contacted by an NGO Land In Focus, who had noticed and liked our film, and offered to enter our film in the experimental film category in the festival. We are very grateful to them for that!
We also have submitted Movements Between Moments and True Gifts to the Latvia based short film festival 2ANNAS. We’ll see how it goes.
p.s. We begin filming our feature length documentary early this April. The theme is still secret for now.
New projects and possibilities
by Andris on Feb.25, 2011, under News
Some exciting news: Our Fire Films will produce two new documentary feature films together with the studio Elm Media and Kaspars Goba. The production will begin in March 2011 and is estimated to take about 2 years.
We have also other projects in mind, in photography, cinematography and other, in light of which we’ve decided to go official and establish our own NGO to better serve our cause and to be able to attract potential donors. In the spirit of what has already been achieved the NGO will be named Our Fire, but Our Fire Films will stay as the name for our film making side of the project. Our Fire will be established just as we push through the paper work.
Our Fire Films is a project under the NGO
